With so much rain at the retreat site we have been stomping around in our gum boots, waiting for sun breaks!
We are very excited as we have now put a funding campaign up for the continued building of the Retreat on a website called Indiegogo.
This website works on the premise of ‘crowd funding’.
Wikipedia defines crowd funding as;
“Crowdfunding has its origins in the concept of crowdsourcing, which is the broader concept of an individual reaching a goal by receiving and leveraging small contributions from many parties. Crowdfunding is the application of this concept to the collection of funds through small contributions from many parties in order to finance a particular project or venture.”
What makes crowd funding work on the internet is the potential to reach as many people as possible, so they can contribute through donations, sharing the information with networks and sharing with friends and family…
This makes the aspect of sharing and passing information on very important. If everyone donates a little and then shares, the chances of reaching the funding target are increased with each person.
We are humbly asking each of you as subscribers to please join the crowd funding process for the retreat.
We would be really excited and grateful if you guys
share with your friends, your network, the campaign page on Indiegogo, which can be found at this link:-
And please donate if you are guided and inspired… Every amount counts… Thank you.
This process has led us at Africa Shaman Experience to contemplate how the principle of crowd funding relates to the process and principle of Ubuntu.
“This kind of spirituality shapes persons in such a way that they grow into the concept of Ubuntu (humanness). In other words, an integrated spirituality is a spirituality in which
who we are, and what we do are intimately related. The process of an African spiritualist is also developed within the village. Mbiti reminds us that: “It takes a whole village to raise a child. In short, relationship is part of development of African spirituality.” – M.J.S Masango
This corresponds directly to the idea behind crowd funding. By supporting such a project you are practicing the principle of it ‘taking a whole village to achieve success’.
This is profoundly beautiful and such a great opportunity for us as humans to pull together and really be aware that we are truly connected in all we do, every action produces further action.
In the times that we live in, the idea of cause and effect and manifestation seems ever more present and tangible as the universe and earth responds to our growth and new perceptions of both spirit and physics.
In both these arena’s there is the understanding that by letting something go once you have created it, you create space for change, you create space for new possibilities.
Physics states; “All possible outcomes within the body of a single current”.
This is the same idea in Ubuntu which speaks of a consciousness of ‘oneness’ that is shared by all of humanity, and
within that consciousness are many possibilities and manifestations.
Perhaps this is fundamental truth that we need to remember and re-engage with. Certainly the ancestors speak of a unified consciousness that connects us all and affects our co-creative manifestation.
How much more empowered would we be if we realised that in our capacity to share and give, we actually
empower our ability to manifest to a greater extent as we open the doors to many possibilities and infinite potential.
We send many blessings and joy to all of you in this holiday season and look forward to continuing the journey here at Africa Shaman Experience with you.
