Thank you to so many of you who responded so positively to our last newsletter.
The sacred stones and offering places are finally being moved from where Africa Shaman Experiences previous home was.
The land is responding as we pull some of our deepest roots from that land base; it is with gratitude and gentleness that we are doing this, the land has been good to us and there is lots we will miss about that particular space as much as we are looking forward to building in our new one…
The next stage in our re-location and retreat building process is to ‘Kunga’ the traditional elder who helped us when talking to the King of the Amahlubi people about the land. Kunga is a very beautiful and traditional process that gives thanks and honours the heart and the ancestors of the person and involves presenting a gift to him.
This we will take to him and present to his home. The land and the rivers of the Amahlubi are very much calling to us… voices singing of spirit and re-connection.
We will be looking to raise funds for the retreat project and if you are interested to be involved in any way or have any ideas; please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
We are heading into the time of “Unhlangula” – the opening and solution this coming month of July into August, the time of the ‘redeeming moon’; this is a potent energy to work with and is a great time for more clearing out and change, especially with the intention of the new to come; as we make our way through winter here in KwaZulu-Natal. It is a time when the ground is dug and ploughed in preparation for planting at a later date.
The redeeming moon is also a good time for compassion and forgiveness, a time to take quiet moments to be kind to your-self and others and center with the Ancestors allowing their compassion to enfold you and remind you of who you truly are.
For anyone wanting to learn more about Zulu tradition, African Shamanism and their personal relationship with their ancestors and how to work with them; the mentorship correspondence course is for you…
Africa Shaman Experience is also working on some new workshops for the near future; we would love to hear from you if there is any particular subject or issue around personal spiritual practice with the Ancestors or Sangoma practice or the Zulu tradition that you
would like to see a workshop on? please email us on
The earth is speaking loudly as Ancestor; and the guardians of sacred places are stirring as humanity becomes more aware. This is deeply felt by the Sangomas within the consciousness of the land; conscious interaction needs to happen and so ceremony will be held in the near future. The earth does request that where ever we are, to sit with her and allow her being to help us in all that we feel and make time for her presence in our every day lives.
We hope to see some of you at the retreat as its
built and grows, we would love to share the Sangoma traditions with you and the culture of the Zulu and Amahlubi people…
